One solution is to add a weight to the rear strap that would offset the weight of the front of the headset. After wearing it for a while, it can cause some strain, especially when you have to tighten the side straps a bit to hold the weight of the headset. However, the strap doesn’t work as well for everyone. For people with round heads, the back of the strap is designed to cup the base of your head, which relieves some of the weight. Not surprisingly, it is a bit front heavy. The Oculus Quest has more electronics in it than desktop VR headsets: not only does it have four cameras, but it also has the processor, storage, and a cooling fan. Oculus Quest battery pack extends battery life, improves comfort Now you can solve both problems with these accessories. It also has a battery life of around 2.5 hours, which is quite good but could always be better. If I wanted to, I can tighten the Quest headstrap to avoid any movement of the headset. One of the issues about the Oculus Quest (reviewed here) is that it’s front heavy. But that’s my choice and not a problem with the VR Power. However, because I’ve loosened the strap of my Quest, the Quest does rotate slightly and sometimes I have to adjust it. My favorite Oculus Quest game is the boxing game Thrill of the Fight, and when using the VR Power, I can move freely without the battery sliding. UPDATE: I’ve been using VR Power for a few months now and so far, it has worked as well as I expected. VR Power is $59 and is available directly from their website (but currently backordered). But so far I have no regrets getting the VR Power. I’ll update this review after I spend more time using it. I was able to store the Quest with the VR Power attached in my 3rd party case for the Quest but I had to disconnect the cables from the Quest. VR Power battery pack for Oculus Quest fits in my 3rd party Oculus Quest case The pack felt securely attached and did not move as I used the Quest, unlike my DIY battery pack that inevitably ended up on one side or the other. Its clips will keep the cable out of the way. You can also use the VR Power as a counterweight without it being plugged into the Quest. Nonetheless, it offsets the Oculus Quest’s weight effectively, and I was able to use the Quest for 30 minutes without any discomfort. The battery pack has a higher center of gravity compared to my DIY battery pack. Although the pad itself is hard, it does a very good job of distributing the weight of the battery pack evenly across its surface so I don’t feel any pressure points against my head. The rear surface of the battery pack has a concave silicone rubber pad. I tried holding down the button but it didn’t seem to turn off. The manual states that the button turns the battery pack on or off but it seems that the pack turns on whenever a cable is connected to it and is turned off when the cable is removed. The battery pack has a large power button surrounded by lights that indicate the approximate amount of power left in 25% increments. VR Power routs the included right angle USB Type C cable through the top of the quest with two clips The pack is easy to install and includes a right-angle USB Type C cable and two clips to route the cable along the top of the Quest. One minor complaint is that the rubber covers for the USB ports are difficult to open. The battery pack has three USB Type C ports: a 3-amp port for the Quest, 1-amp port for powering accessories, and an input port for charging the pack. I haven’t tested to see the maximum amount of time I could use the Quest with the VR Power, but the manufacturer claims that it can provide up to 8 hours of VR gaming and 10 hours of video streaming. VR Power has two bottom straps and will not move side to side. VR Power even has dimples in its corners that mimic the Quest’s sensors. Its trapezoid shape echoes the triangular space in the Quest’s rear strap. The battery pack is very well made and complements the Oculus Quest’s appearance very nicely. VR Power review: battery pack for Oculus Quest I ordered it several months ago and it finally arrived yesterday. It also looks quite plain, to put it mildly.įortunately, VR Power has created a sleek-looking battery pack for the Oculus Quest, with the same purpose in mind. But with a battery pack, I can use the Quest for hours without pain.Īlthough my DIY battery pack works well enough, it has a tendency to slide from side to side, especially in more active games. After around 30 minutes, my face begins to hurt. Without a battery pack, the Quest is front-heavy, which means I have to pull the straps tightly to my face. Not only does it extend the battery life but more importantly, it makes the Quest much more comfortable. One of the most useful accessories for the Oculus Quest is an external battery pack.

īeginning as early as 7000 BCE, the domestication of cacao, maize, beans, tomato, avocado, vanilla, squash and chili, as well as the turkey and dog, resulted in a transition from paleo-Indian hunter-gatherer tribal groupings to the organization of sedentary agricultural villages. Mesoamerica is also one of only five regions of the world where writing is known to have independently developed (the others being ancient Egypt, India, Sumer, and China). Mesoamerica is one of the six areas in the world where ancient civilization arose independently (see cradle of civilization), and the second in the Americas, alongside the Caral–Supe in present-day Peru. In world history, Mesoamerica was the site of two historical transformations: (i) primary urban generation, and (ii) the formation of New World cultures from the mixtures of the indigenous Mesoamerican peoples with the European, African, and Asian peoples who were introduced by the Spanish colonization of the Americas. In the pre-Columbian era, many societies flourished in Mesoamerica for more than 3,000 years before the Spanish colonization of the Americas began on Hispaniola in 1493. As a cultural area, Mesoamerica is defined by a mosaic of cultural traits developed and shared by its indigenous cultures. Mesoamerica is a historical region and cultural area that begins in the southern part of North America and extends to the Pacific coast of Central America, thus comprising the lands of central and southern Mexico, all of Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, and small parts of Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Some of the filler episodes can be genuinely enjoyable but those are few and far between. This is worsened by the below par writing for these filler episode as they are not written by the original author Masashi Kishimoto himself. So mostly what we get is poorly written mini-arcs and episodes that don’t affect any of the characters or the world in any significant way. This being a mainly character driven plot, this becomes a huge issue because any significant event in fillers could affect the characters so they can't move ahead the plot line at all. The issues that lies within the filler episodes is that they are not allowed to make any significant changes to the story or specifically its characters. It counts as 219 total filler episodes which make up 44% of the series as a whole. The amount of filler in this show is staggering. The story is mainly hampered (not ruined) by fillers and pacing issues which I will discuss below. Down the line this is series deals with more mature themes and darker tones and manage to execute well on most of those themes if not all. And the story then on is presented in a collection of long well constructed story arcs with the bigger picture stories of Sasuke and the Akatsuki being told parallelly till a certain point. The series eases you back into the world of Naruto with a slow paced, almost SOL like first few episodes. It starts off where the first part of Naruto ended and the very first scenes gives us a sneak peak of things to come. It's unpredictable, it's thrilling, it plays with your emotions, it's funny, it's tragic, it's sometimes downright frustrating but it is, more than anything, wondrous and fun while being able to take itself seriously when it needs to. But what it is, is beautiful (probably not the word that can be often used to describe a shounen anime), but it really is. While it's not bad, it's certainly no Berserk. The story of Naruto has been a mixed bag. been the best experience an anime gave me in my entire life and dig into what made the series popular while also explaining its flaws. Sometimes the animation quality was below par and pacing can be painfully slow at times. Let me start off by saying Naruto is by no means a flawless anime. An anime that ranked as one of the most watched series in Japan that got tarnished by a greedy studio and has received tons of internet backlash throughout the years. The series that sold over 220 million manga copies, winning handful of awards along the way.
